S165. One big problem, the under dial wheels and bridge are gone. Do you own the one on your site and would it be possible to get some pics of the bridge and wheel/pinion count. It would help so much as this is a great clock I plan to keep.

Mechanical movements are available from horological suppliers such as Cousins: https://www.cousinsuk.com and Walsh: http://www.hswalsh.com but it might not be possible to find a movement that is easy to fit.

Alternatives are to fit a quartz movement or a synchronous movement, available from horological suppliers.

I have a Metamec wind-up mantle clock that is not pictured here. It has 1/3/2676 scratched onto the back but this has not helped me so far in my search. After taking it to a clock repairer he advises that I need a whole new movement if it is to return to being a working 8-day clock. Can you pls advise where I can start to look for the right movement as of course the manufacturers no longer have a web site. Many thanks, Jane.

I’m in the process of restoring my Ferranti synchronous electric clock. It has a 12″ Art Deco face and a stepped bezel. I have found reference to a 6″ clock of similar design at http://www.electric-clocks.co.uk/ but I can find no reference at all of a 12″ clock ever made by Ferranti. Has anyone here come across one?

Synchronous clocks are difficult to value because prices achieved on eBay, and asking prices in shops, vary widely for similar clocks. This particular model does seem to be rare, probably because it didn’t sell well. I don’t think rarity adds to the value. Prices achieved on eBay for Ferranti clocks appear to have increased since the publication of Lines’ book because it is now possible to identify models and dates.
